As a staff member, if you are receiving notifications from One Call Now because your child is enrolled in the District do you still need to setup a contact number?
Yes,
I recommend setting up
at least a primary contact number with One Call Now.This is because in the event an important message needs to be delivered to only staff you will not receive it if you are using
your child’s student One Call Now contact group.
As a staff member, if you are receiving notifications from One Call Now because your spouse is also employed with the District do you still need to setup a contact number?
Yes,
I recommend setting up
at least a primary contact number with One Call Now.This is because in the event an important message needs to be delivered to only staff you will not receive it if you are using
your spouses
One Call Now contact building group unless both you and your spouse work in the same building.
When I receive a voice call from One Call Now the message sometimes repeats
T
he message repeating is typically triggered by a loud noise in the background. The One Call Now system interrupts the load noise as the beep of voicemail starting and therefore restarts
the message over so that the entire message is
recorded in voicemail.
I have both voice calls and text notifications setup in One Call Now but sometimes I don’t receive notifications from both platforms?
This could be a result of two things:
When a notification
job is being created the Messenger has the option to select what communication format in which
to deliver the message (voice, text or email or any combination). Therefore you may get either a voice call, text message, or email or a combination of voice call and email, or a text message and email. You will never receive a voice call and text message from the same notification job.
One Call Now will only contact a phone number once per notification job. If you have both voice calls and text messaging setup in One Call Now and the Messenger selects voice calls and text messaging as the delivery format you will only get the text message for that phone number as text messages are delivered first.
As an example, suppose you have multiple children attending West Muskingum and we are on a two-hour delay. You will only get the phone call or text message once for that number. You will not get it for each child.
Also to note, when a Messenger is building a notification job they can select to deliver the notification to All contact numbers in the One Call Now System or just the phone numbers marked as Primary contact numbers.
